The Beautiful Habit of Becoming: Your Fresh Chapter Awaits

As we step into 2026, I want you to know something important:

you belong here.

You're part of something special, a community of freedom crusaders, health seekers, and wisdom gatherers who've chosen one of the most worthy ideals a person can set for themselves: investing in yourself and others.

It's nice not to be alone on this journey, isn't it? To walk alongside kindred spirits who understand that life is meant to be lived fully, richly, and with purpose.

The Beautiful Habit of Becoming

Paul shared what he noticed after nearly 20 years in this community and I feel the same:

-I don't find myself setting New Year's resolutions anymore. Not because goals don't matter, they matter deeply, but because goal-setting has become habitual.

Even during the holidays, surrounded by family time, gift-giving, and rest, I found myself waking early with my face in a book, thinking and planning for the future. The habits persisted. And that's the secret, friends:

When reaching down deep inside becomes something you do every day of the year, transformation isn't an event, it's a lifestyle.

This isn't about perfection. It's about direction. It's about showing up, day after day, until the person you're becoming feels more like you than the person you used to be.

The Enemy Called Worry (And How to Defeat It)

Let's talk about worry for a moment, that sneaky character trait that disguises itself as caring, as responsibility, as being prepared.

But here's the truth: Worry is like prayer in reverse.

What you think about, you bring about. When you worry, you're essentially affirming the very things you don't want. You're building them in your subconscious, giving them power, inviting them closer, even though that's the opposite of your intention.

Our brains are wired toward the negative. That's why personal development matters so much. We're not fixing something broken, we're reprogramming toward possibility. And once you get to the point where you're genuinely positive about the future, the negative things begin to fall away like autumn leaves.

So how do we escape worry's grip?

Here are tools that work:

1. Take action. The moment you move toward something productive, worry loses its hold. Motion creates emotion.

2. Write down what you're grateful for. Gratitude and anxiety cannot occupy the same space in your heart.

3. Review your goals. Remind yourself where you're headed and why it matters.

4. Ask yourself: "What can I do about this?" If the answer is nothing, let it pass. Move on to something you can influence.

5. Talk to yourself. Really! Studies show that people who talk to themselves tend to have better psychological well-being. It's like affirmations, journaling, and having a conversation with a trusted friend all rolled into one. Someone who listens, cares, doesn't judge, and helps you process your thoughts.

And here's a beautiful one: Come into community. When worry feels heavy, sometimes all you need is to hear a loving voice, feel that warm energy, and remember you're not carrying this alone.

The Unseen Connections That Bind Us

Let me share something remarkable.

There's a story in Steve Jobs' biography about how he didn't know his biological parents until later in life. He eventually developed a relationship with his birth mother and sister, Mona, though he chose not to meet his birth father.

But life has a way of weaving threads we can't see.

Mona tracked down their father, a man who owned and ran restaurants. He would excitedly tell people about all the amazing customers who came through including, he mentioned, Steve Jobs himself. He had no idea he was talking about his own son. And Steve, when he visited that restaurant and shook hands with the owner? He didn't know he was meeting his father.

There are connections beyond the physical. The universe brings people together in ways we can't predict or control.

Here's another story, closer to home: A family believed their biological grandfather had died in prison. Decades of that story, accepted as truth. Then, through some family history research, an obituary surfaced and that obituary mentioned a surviving brother. One phone call later, a reunion happened. Great-grandchildren got to meet family they never knew existed.

The lesson? Stay open. Stay curious. The beautiful surprises of life often arrive when we least expect them.

Keep Your Vision Clear

From our readings this week comes wisdom that bears repeating:

You cannot retain a true and clear vision of wealth if you are constantly turning your attention to opposing pictures, whether they be external or imaginary.

Don't rehearse your past troubles. Don't dwell on hardships or scarcity or the difficulties of your early life. When you do that, you mentally class yourself with poverty, and it slows the movement of good things toward you.

Put poverty and all things that pertain to poverty completely behind you.

We are all drops in the ocean of life. We can hold a thought, take positive action toward it, and watch it become reality.

So I ask you: Why give time and attention to things that are passing away? Why let the news make every problem in the world your problem? The goal of much media is exactly that, to make you feel responsible for things you cannot change, to keep you anxious and clicking.

Instead: Think of the riches the world is coming into, not the poverty it's growing out of.

When you see others struggling, see them as people who are becoming, who are on their way to something better. Then they'll catch the inspiration too.

Thought + Action = Transformation

Here's where many well-meaning seekers run aground:

Thinking in a certain way will bring riches to you, but you must not rely upon thought alone.

You can visualize. You can affirm. You can meditate on abundance until you feel it in your bones. But if you don't act? You'll be, and I say this with love, a super happy broke person.

The gold in the mountains won't mine itself, refine itself, and roll down the road into your pocket. Under the power of something greater than ourselves, circumstances will be arranged, people will be led, opportunities will appear, but your personal activity must be such that you can receive what's coming to you.

Thought makes all things work to bring you what you want. Action allows you to receive it.

So what does daily action look like?

Create content. Share what you're learning. Blog, post, make videos, whatever fits your season.

Tell others. Reach out. Have conversations. You won't get results if no one knows what you're building.

Follow up. That email list, those connections, those conversations that started but didn't finish, circle back.

And here's wisdom from our community: It's better to have ignorance on fire than knowledge on ice.

Sometimes the person who's brand new, who doesn't know all the strategies and potential pitfalls, has an advantage. They're not paralyzed by over-analysis. They just move.

We want to be knowledgeable, yes, but not so knowledgeable that we're stuck. Theorizing and overthinking is just another form of worry. Pick something and take action.

Voices of Encouragement from Your Community

Your fellow travelers shared some golden nuggets this week. Let their words wash over you:

"It's 2026, you better wake up! This is the best day ever. Get up, make a difference, get your exercise in."

"After going through grief, there is a silver lining. Failing is just an event, not who you are. We are all champions. We are blessed to be a blessing to others."

"This is the first day of the rest of 2026. This is your new movie. You are the director and the star!

"Lights!" We are the light of the world.

"Camera!" That's your goals, your vision board.

"Action!" What you're doing TODAY. I can see the fantastic end of the movie, because I am creating it."

"There are people who need and want what you have. Be open to sharing with whoever is in your path."

"Be a lighthouse over an ocean of worry. Whatever you want to come back to you, knowing we're in the field of infinite possibility, we have the power to move forward. Follow your heart. If it feels good, do it."

"We don't have to hustle and bustle. We can ease into it."

"Your 5 things: Get up early. Read. Exercise. Set goals. Make a post."

And this beautiful reminder: "The very best thing you can do for the whole world is to make the most of yourself."

Your Daily Revolution

Notice I said revolution, not just resolution.

A resolution is a one-time decision. A revolution is an ongoing uprising, a daily commitment to becoming who you were meant to be.

Here's what that might look like:

Morning:

- Wake early (before the world demands your attention)

- Read something that feeds your mind and spirit

- Move your body

- Review your goals and vision

- Express gratitude, out loud if you can

Throughout the day:

- Create something (even if small)

- Reach out to someone (tell them what you're excited about)

- Take one action toward your biggest dream

- When worry creeps in, ask: "What can I do about this?"

Evening:

- Reflect on wins (no matter how small)

- Prepare your mind for tomorrow

- Rest well, you've earned it

Do this not once, not for a week, but until it becomes as natural as breathing. That's the revolution.

You Are Never Too Late

As you stand at the threshold of this new year, remember:

"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream." - C.S. Lewis

The year 2026 stretches before you like a blank chapter, waiting to be written. 360 days of possibility. 360 chances to take action, to grow, to become.

You're not behind. You're not too old. You haven't missed your window.

The world is not going to ruin, it is going toward something beautiful. It is a wonderful becoming. And so are you.

Your Invitation

If you're reading this, you're already part of something special. But don't stop here.

- Show up daily. Consistency compounds.

- Share what you're learning. Your journey is meant to help others.

- Stay in community. We need each other.

- Take action TODAY. Not tomorrow. Not when you feel ready. Now.

Remember: An ounce of doing is worth a pound of theorizing.

The people watching your life - your family, your friends, even strangers - they're looking for proof that change is possible. Be that proof.

Welcome to your breakthrough year. Welcome to the revolution.

We're so grateful you're here.

Now... let's go make the most of ourselves.

P.S. Six days of 2026 have already passed. 359 remain. What will you do with them?

Start today. Start now. Start with one small action.

And never forget: You are worthy. You are loved. You are valued. Your journey matters, and it's meant to light the way for others.
