Today’s mastermind was one of those calls that stays with you
not because of hype or motivation, but because of truth. Real truth.
Sherry opened with the Major Definite Purpose and thanked Mike for his service ...
That one word “service” became the thread for the entire conversation. Mike reminded
us that passion without service can lead us down a very empty road. You can make money
without serving, but you can’t make meaning. Fulfillment only comes when your passion
helps people.
And then came today’s big message from Napoleon Hill:
Indecision is the silent thief of success.
Time is our only real capital, and procrastination steals it second by second. Hill paints
life like a checkerboard where TIME is our opponent. If we hesitate, we lose pieces…
and eventually get cornered.
A picture of a skeleton sitting on one side of the chess
board with a man in the dark, on the other side of the table, head resting in hand, waiting.
There is an hourglass sitting next to the chess board with the sand pouring through.
Time waits for no one.
Great leaders weren’t great because they were perfect. They were great because they
decided quickly and acted consistently. Grant. Napoleon. Carnegie. Demosthenes.
People who paired imagination with decisive action.
Millions have dreams, but never move from thinking to deciding.
Indecision creates stress.
Action creates freedom.
ACTION creates FREEDOM
Mark Smith reminded us beautifully:
We’re in the 4th quarter of the year, December.
But the game isn't over. If needed, take it into overtime. Winners don’t stop when the clock
runs out. They keep moving.
Kevin shared vulnerably how he had to learn to speak, make friends, and do the things he
feared. He learned by doing and making mistakes, and then learning why the mistake
happened. Action teaches. Reflection shapes. Growth happens in motion.
When I shared, Mark helped me realize I was in the 4th quarter of life too, and it’s time to play
to win. His words combined with Kevin’s sparked a shift for me:
Study the thing you’re afraid of instead of avoiding it.
Learn what the expert did to get the results you want.
Every author we’ve studied reinforces this:
John Maxwell: Every choice you make makes you.
Esther Hicks: Decision is the point of power.
Gay Hendricks: We move in the direction of our strongest decisions.
Bill Moist: Make the decision quickly. Move. You’ll either win or learn.
Sherry reminded us to “Eat That Frog”, do the hard thing first. Every day. Put it behind you
so you can walk in freedom instead of dragging avoidance everywhere you go.
Paul shared the unforgettable story from this month’s book: the third Apple co-founder who
got cold feet, backed out two weeks into their deal, and walked away from what would have
become $2.6 billion for him.
Not because he wasn’t smart.
Not because he wasn’t in the right place at the right time.
But because fear beat decision.
Ursie opened up about retiring and still procrastinating the things she wanted to do for years,
and the comfort she finds in this community, knowing she’s not alone and there is always
a way forward.
Elizabeth gave us life today. At 85, inspired by Viola Fletcher who lived to 111 and kept
serving, she said:
“If it is to be, it’s up to me.”
Age isn’t a deadline, it’s a privilege.
Jessie closed with fire:
People think after 50 they’re “over the hill.”
But for so many, it’s the beginning of their best years.
You’re wiser. Stronger. Freer.
Your age is an asset, not an excuse.
Your service, your story, your experience, the world needs that.
And Mike ended by saying how proud he is of everyone who stayed in the game, especially
those of us over 60 claiming our freedom.
This is what our mastermind is about:
Service.
Action.
Overcoming fear.
Deciding quickly.
Learning forward.
Using time wisely.
And living a life that matters.
The year isn’t over.
The game isn’t over.
And neither are you.
